Flamingos in Ethiopia

Photograph by Michael Poliza, National Geographic

Flamingos nearly cover the surface of Lake Abijatta in Ethiopia, a popular destination for birders in East Africa. In addition to Lake Abijatta, the country is home to the rolling savannas and plains of Awash National Park and the wet woodlands and high-elevation habitats of Bale Mountains National Park.
