Local Native American tribes have called Glacier National Park in Montana the "Backbone of the World," based on ancient legends and the ethereal appearance of its snow-topped mountains and glaciers. Logan Pass, the highest point on Going-to-the-Sun Road, is known for its wildflowers, including the bear grass shown here, which is able to thrive in scorched earth after wildfires.
