Regions
What is a Region?

A region is an area with similar characteristics that separate it from other areas. Regions might be defined by attributes like common culture or language (Middle East); climate (sub-Saharan Africa); economic activity (the United States’ Rust Belt); or political cohesiveness (Eastern Europe). Whatever the defining characteristic, regions are extremely fluid delineations that might be as small as a neighborhood or as large as a continent.
