Diwali in Agra, India

Elaborate displays of flowers and candles, seen here at the Oberoi Amarvilas hotel in Agra, are part of the celebration of India’s Diwali Festival, or the festival of lights. Diwali comes from the Sanskrit words deepa and avail and literally means "row of lights." The festival is associated with several Hindu myths about the triumph of dharma (righteousness) over adharma (unrighteousness) and light over darkness.
