Big Cypress Reservation, Florida
Photograph by Jack Dykinga, National Geographic
Duckweed swirls in the swampy waters of the Big Cypress Reservation, approximately 2,000 acres of restored wetland neighboring Florida’s Everglades. The state’s Seminole Indians developed the initiative to revive the land, home to deer, Florida panthers, and other indigenous species.
