A Tristanian and his dog survey the vast South Atlantic Ocean from an island bluff. The world’s most remote inhabited island, Tristan da Cunha lies roughly halfway between Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Cape Town, South Africa. Only nine passages are scheduled from Cape Town to the island each year.
