Petra, Jordan

Photograph by Sai Kit Leung

The camel is one of the most iconic species in the desert area of Petra. In the past it was a means of transportation, and nowadays it give rides to the tourists. On the day I took this picture, I visited Petra in the early morning and found these two camels idled in front of a famous spot in Petra, the Treasury. While I was trying to photograph this pair of camels with the Treasury in the background, one of them discovered me and turned his head toward me, creating this interesting shot of a curious camel.
