Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Abu Dhabi
Photograph by Khalid Al Hammadi
"I was waiting for this scene a long time," says Khalid Al Hammadi, who took this photo of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque engulfed in fog. An Abu Dhabi landmark, the mosque was the vision of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, the first president of the United Arab Emirates. Its construction was finished after the leader’s death in 2004.
