Campdrafter, Australia

Photograph by Katrina Wade

A cowboy and his horse kick up dust under the late afternoon sun at the Baryulgil Campdraft in New South Wales, Australia. Campdrafting is an Australian sport, similar to American stock horse events, in which a rider attempts to separate a cow from its herd in the "camp," or yard. To prove they have it under control, they must lead the cow through a series of pegs outside the yard in under 40 seconds.
