Dusk falls over the temples and homes of Tsarang, once the most important town in the former kingdom of Mustang. Seven hundred years ago, Mustang, in north-central Nepal, was a bustling place: a center of Buddhist scholarship and art, and a major stop for caravans carrying loads of salt between Tibet and India.
