Iceland Canyon

Photograph by Kathleen Wasselle Croft, National Geographic Your Shot

"I have been drawn to Iceland like a homing pigeon since my first visit in 1981," writes Kathleen Wasselle Croft, who submitted this photo to Your Shot. "This particular gem is named Fjadrargljufur, [which] translates to Feather River Canyon. I set out to photograph this canyon when I happened along a hiker on the cliff while waiting for a break in the clouds. To experience this canyon from above is breathtaking. Capturing it leaves me simply speechless."
