Some in flight, others still grounded, flamingos gather at Lake Bogoria, one of the "soda lakes" scattered along the length of Africa's Great Rift Valley. The lakes, named for the bicarbonate of soda leached from the volcanic soil, is home to as many as four million lesser flamingos.
