Photograph by Robin Hammond, Panos Pictures

A mountain gorilla rests watchfully along a lush hillside in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda. The park, which borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, is where pioneering gorilla researcher Dian Fossey based her studies.

Volcanoes National Park is one of the stops on a National Geographic 125th anniversary private jet expedition. Follow Digital Nomad Andrew Evans on the journey >>
