Tabiteuea, Kiribati

An outrigger skims the crystal-clear waters around the Republic of Kiribati's island of Tabiteuea. Kiribati comprises 33 atolls, surrounded by extensive coral reefs, in the Pacific Ocean. The island chain has been described by Kiribati poet Teweiariki Teaero as "garlands of the gods."
