Nenets Camp, Russia

Photograph by Justin Jin, Panos Pictures

A Nenets child climbs the side of his family's tent in Naryan-Mar, part of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug district in Russia. An ancient tribe that has survived the modern era, Nenets are traditionally reindeer herders. Many still move with the seasons, tending their reindeer as they migrate from the shelter of the northern forests to the treeless tundra far above the Arctic Circle.
