Shoppers and strollers bring life to the historic quarter of Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Most of the area was destroyed by Nazi troops during World War II; a five-year rebuilding effort restored the district, and it's now a World Heritage site. Spire-topped Royal Castle, once the official residence of the country's monarchs, is now a museum.
