Puffins, Inishturk Island

Photograph by Kieran Dodds, Panos Pictures

A puffin comes in for a landing on Inishturk Island, which lies about nine miles off the coast of County Mayo, Ireland. The island's seaside cliffs support colonies of puffins and other breeding seabirds, including guillemots, fulmars, and razorbills—all of which are best seen with their young from May to July.
