San Felè, Italy

Photograph by Michele Amoruso, National Geographic Your Shot

A cluster of homes and other buildings mark the medieval village of San Felè in the province of Potenza. Italy's southern region of Basilicata—the boot's instep—is one of the country's least known regions, a wild place filled with ancient sites and sparkling seas. Its empty, mountainous interiors are unspoiled and its coastline is a perfect place to rest.
