Saxon Switzerland, Germany

The most exciting scenery in Germany's Saxony region is that of Saxon Switzerland in the upper valley of the Elbe River, where 1,000-foot-high sandstone cliffs have been eroded into fantastic shapes. The area is popular with rock climbers and hikers.
