Suri People, Ethiopia
Photograph by Giordano Cipriani, Solomango/SIME
Water mirrors the visages of two young Suri tribespeople. Suri live in the Omo Valley of Ethiopia, where the Omo River carves serpentine oxbows as the countryside flattens and ribbons of forest appear along its banks. Many other tribes live here, including the Kara, Mursi, Hamar, Nyangatom, Kwegu, and Dassanech—a population of nearly 200,000.
