Sculpture in Brisbane, Australia

Photograph by Dana Carruthers, National Geographic Your Shot

"This is an abstract view of the 'Venus Rising' sculpture located at Kangaroo Point Park in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The sculpture stands over 20 meters high, but I love the view from inside," says Dana Carruthers, who took this photo. "The play of light through the metal bars and rings adds a dimension that is lost when the sculpture is viewed from the outside. To achieve this image I lay on the ground inside and looked directly up through the top. Every time I go it is different, as the light and ratio of sky to cloud is never the same."
