Yi Peng Lantern Festival, Thailand

Millions of lanterns float into the sky at the Yi Peng Lantern Festival in Thailand, which takes place on the full moon of the second month of the Thai lunar calendar. Lanterns are typically constructed from a thin fabric, like rice paper, and attached to candles or fuel cells that create enough hot air to carry them into the clouds.
