Springbrook National Park
Photograph by Thirumurugan Ponnusamy, My Shot
Natural Bridge in Springbrook National Park is a most unusual geological feature created over millions of years by water tumbling through the roof of a basalt cave. I went there on a cloudy day to capture the silky white waterfall through the hole formed by the surrounding rocks.

Channel Country
Photograph by Rowan Bestmann, My Shot
Yellow wildflowers shroud the landscape following the floods of January 2009. It is areas like this that really define Australia's Channel Country as unique. Without the floods, this springing forth of life would only take place if rains fell, and that is extremely rare in this part of Australia.

Photograph by Paul Evans, My Shot
The Simpson Desert occupies approximately 176,500 square kilometers of central Australia, and is a sand or dune sea that contains the world's longest parallel sand dunes. These north-south oriented dunes are static, held in position by vegetation, such as Spinifex, various native grasses and Georgina gidgee trees.

In the early morning of the first day of 2010, I came to Maroubra, a well-known eastern suburb of Sydney, Australia, to get some fresh air. I saw this man standing at the cliff's edge, and the word "solitude" came to me.

Campsite, Outback
Photograph by Justin Walker, My Shot
This image was taken during a recent outback adventure in the Northern Territory. What stands out most to me is the vast outback night sky; the bright, glowing full moon; and the light from the four-wheel drive parked near our tent. The tent's color, from the 30-second exposure, also reflects the ocher colors found in the outback's sand and rocks.

Melbourne City Centre
Photograph by Carmel McFayden, Your Shot
I grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and have numerous memories of running down Swanston Street, glancing up at the clocks and trying to catch that soon-to-be-departing train. What I wanted to capture was the feel of the CBD, the bustling activity, the people, the cars, the new buildings, all against the backdrop of the old station. It's an anchor to the city. The original photo was beautiful in color; however in black and white it is something more monumental.
