Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, East Java
Photograph by Jessy Eykendorp, My Shot
The national park is named after its two mountains, Mount Semeru (the highest in Java) and Mount Bromo (the most popular), and the Tengger people who inhabit the area. The park also includes large areas, which are very lush, fed by rivers from the high tops. The medium elevations are clad with much thinner forest before this gives way to the barren plateau and peaks.

Lionfish
Photograph by Tay Tousey, My Shot
This shot was photographed in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, on a small island where I was diving on a wall. I came across a lionfish and photographed him vertically. I spent quite some time waiting for him to turn around. Lionfish are notorious for keeping their backs and poisonous spines toward their adversaries.

Rice Farmer, Bali
Photograph by James Key, My Shot
As my brother and I navigated our way through the endless twisting and turning roads of West Bali by motorbike, I peered into my rearview mirror to find him nowhere in sight. I pulled to the side of the road to wait, and spied a rice farmer toiling away in the midday heat. He captivated me with his modern plaid Western shirt and traditional sedge hat and hand scythe. A perfect example of the blurring lines of culture found more and more often in the 21st century.
