Grand Canyon, Arizona
Photograph by Hark Lee, Your Shot
"The ponderosa pine, gazing into the deep canyon from the rocky hills of Lipan Point, did not make it through the winter. Every spring I had reunited with the pine, and the loss left me strayed. Days later, when I ventured into a less traveled part of the park, I was introduced to a new friend. Soon enough glorious morning light painted the skies and lifted my spirit." —Hark Lee

Underground Stockholm
Photograph by Torsten Muehlbacher, Your Shot
Dramatically lit, the Rådhuset metro station in Stockholm resembles the inside of a volcano. The station is one of several in Stockholm that have exposed bedrock and make use of organic architecture.

Lofoten, Norway

"Lofoten is one of the best places in the world for producing stockfish. The islands are filled with fish hung to dry in the first part of the year. It's something you have to see and smell." —Alex Conu

Utah Canyon
Photograph by Hark Lee, Your Shot
"A nearly two-week-long expedition was off to a great start when a clearing winter storm put on an incredible show. The very next day, however, the weather changed dramatically, leaving an unusually stationary bank of low clouds and fog all over eastern Utah. Exploring new places and creating new ideas are the highest reward a landscape photographer can seek, but without images, stories fade and voices mumble. Harsh as it seems, you are forced to turn back. Today is not your day." —Hark Lee

Palouse, Washington State
Photograph by Katherine Dykstra, Your Shot
"As the sun sets low in the sky, the rolling hills are more defined from Steptoe Butte, a small hill that captures the beauty of the Palouse from 360 degrees. A beautiful location in eastern Washington State that gives you a feeling that you just stepped into the Tuscany region of Italy." —Katherine Dykstra

Fujiyoshida, Japan
Photograph by Yuga Kurita, Your Shot
"This place is the most photogenic location in Fujiyoshida and I've been there a number of times. It was heavily snowing yesterday and Fuji hid behind thick clouds. Finally, we could see Fuji at dusk yesterday. Fuji got more snow and was even more beautiful than usual. The town also looked more beautiful thanks to the snow." —Yuga Kurita

Lake Titicaca, Peru and Bolivia
Photograph by tihomir trichkov, Your Shot
"It is very interesting how people on the islands of Lake Titicaca just throw the freshly caught fish directly on the ground, which creates a very interesting phenomena—fields of fish. It takes approximately two days for the fish to dry out, exposed to the hot sun at around 4,000 meters above sea level." —tihomir trichkov
