Swiss Alps Chalet

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Jason Zito

I was staying in the town Of Gstaad, Switzerland for a few days and decided to take the train towards Montreaux. It was late in the afternoon and the sun was beginning to set. As the train passed a small village of what looked like to me to be quintessential Swiss Chalets I decided to get off at the next station to take a few pictures. I took this picture directly into the sun creating a dramatic effect of solar flare against the contrast of the foreboding Alps. Looking at this picture I'm instantly taken back to that evening.

Location: Gstaad, CH
