Biton the Howler Monkey

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Carmen Spencer

Biton is one of the howler monkeys currently being rehabilitated at Parque Ambue Ari, one of three animal refuges ran by the Inti Wara Yassi Communidad in Bolivia. Biton eagerly jumps on your shoulder at the start of each day as you take him to his favourite tree in the jungle. Parque Ambue Ari is a magical and inspiring place. The relationships we built with the animals during our time as volunteers is by far the most memorable part of my travels.

Location: Parque Ambue Ari, Santa Cruz, Bolivia
