Reflections of Sukhothai

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Renan Rosa

During my trip to Sukhothai, in Thailand, I read a buddhist phrase that says: "Thought is like a lake: when the surface is placid and calm, everything is reflected clearly. But when the thought gets bumpy, we are unable to see clearly our true nature". Trying to reproduce this thought, I turned down the image, making a photographic metaphor between Sukhothai and buddhist philosophy. I believe that this image carries the real sense of this place, and a little bit of my sense, such as a man and as a photographer.” (Nikon D700 Digital Camera, 20mm lens, exposure at 1.320 second, f/8.0)

Location: Sukhothai, Thailand
