Don't they know this ground is unsafe?

These bison are just part of a herd of 500 hazed back into Yellowstone National Park from their winter grazing grounds. Visitors are constantly admonished to stay on the boardwalks due to the possibility of breaking through the crusty surface. One has to wonder if this is true or not, watching these beasts weighing many times more than humans, nonchalantly wander through the Middle Geyser Basin.
