Day one of the largest fire in New Mexico history - Las Conchas wildfire. This shot was taken in Santa Fe. The fire grew out of control in 24 hours and continued to burn for weeks, forcing the evacuation of Los Alamos and other areas. At least 63 structures were burned. The wildfire created dramatic smoke plumes rising 30,000 feet in the air and resembling volcanic eruptions.
