Going Clamming

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Christine Mead

Mother and 2 bear cubs on a mission! This bear family moved quickly past us on their way along the beach as the tide goes out. I watched the bears head out at low tide to search for clams, clearly a welcome change from all the grass they eat the rest of the day. These 2 bear cubs are a year old, and obviously thriving on their diet.

Location: Silver Salmon Creek, Lake Clark National Park, Alaska, USA
