A Peruvian Woman works the Maras Salt Terraces

It was actually a National Geographic Article that sparked my journey to find this alien landscape outside of Cusco, Peru, called the Maras Salt Terraces. The Incas built these salt terraces a thousand years ago to separate salt from salt water and they are still being used and worked by local Peruvian families in the same way today. Amazing.

Location: Maras Salt Terraces-Cusco, Peru
