A Boat Ride in Bagdha
Category: Outdoor Scenes
Photo and caption by Jennifer Trombino-Schroeder
In February I visited a group of artisans that make hemp rope and twine products in Bangladesh. The village of Bagdha is so remote that in order to reach it I had to take a country boat across a river teeming with water hyacinth. On the way I passed just one other boat. The passengers watched me rather curiously since tourists are quite rare in the area.
Location: village of Bagdha, south-central Bangladesh; Barisal district
