Lunch time

Photo and caption by Patricia Boone

This Hawksbill turtle was swimming by and decided to stop right in front of me to eat some soft coral. He stayed for quite some time eating and didn't seem to mind me taking his picture. In a whole week of scuba diving in Grand Cayman, he was the only turtle I saw. The Hawksbill turtle is a critically endangered sea turtle. :(( (Maybe he is a she). I have traveled to Grand Cayman numerous times in the past five years and have seen quite a few turtles each trip up until this one. I hope this is not a sign of his demise.....

Location: Grand Cayman
