Contemplating a New Day's Paddle

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Courtney Seufert

A lone sea kayaker faces the sunrise, welcoming the new day at dawn in the Sea of Cortez. Ahead lies all the promise of what would be a 25-km paddle day on glassy water, early enough to beat out the wind that often picks up in the afternoons across the Gulf of California.

Location: Sea of Cortez, Baja California Sur, Mexico
