Charlotte Skyline From Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina

Category: Sense of Place

This image was taken in the Winter of 2011 from the Black Rock Parking lot at Grandfather Mountain, located in Linville, NC. On occasion, if the weather conditions are favorable, one can see the skyline of Charlotte, NC, which is more than 80 miles away from the mountain. On this particular day, it was visible with the naked eye. I did not have my long lens with me, so I ran down the mountain, and borrowed a friends lens and captured this very cool shot of the skyline framed by tree branches.

Location: Linville, North Carolina
