Steaming Vicunas

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Judith Morgan

A sunrise visit to El Tatio Geyser Field led to an encounter with some curious Vicunas, the smallest, rarest and most delicate of the South American camelids. At first they walked across the road to check me out, then stepped delicately across the geyser field to pose in front of the snow covered mountains for this photograph.

Location: El Tatio Geyser Field, the Atacama, Chile
