Leopard Stalking

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Kiat Teo

It was in the early morning of spring, we entered the gate of Ranthambohre National Park, sitting with my driver cum naturalist in a 4X4 wheel drive open jeep. We had gone deep into the Rajasthan forest desert. Suddenly we heard an alarm call of a spotted deer and my driver signalled towards the area where the spotted big cat (Indian leopard) was mounting an ambush attack for the langurs at the hill in the tall grass. It was about 30 meters from the road, I was holding my breath and my camera was clicking faster than my heart. For once it seemed eternity was right here in front of me.

Location: Ranthambohr National Park, desert terrains of eastern Rajasthan India.
