A Century of living a hard life

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Christa van Rooyen

This Quechuan woman told me she is 100 years old. With cataract covered eyes, she shows the formidable strength of the Quechuan people, descendants of the Incas. Many Quechuan people still wear the traditional colourful clothes, hats and all. Each village in the Sacred valley of Peru has a different shaped and coloured hat.

Location: Ollantaytambo Peru
