Bare bones

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Anders Backman

I photographed this sacrificial site during one of my recent trips in the Bolivian Andes. There were seven individual skeletons in the tomb, and a mountain puma was mounted on the wall. This site was not part of any regular tourism trail, and hopefully this will still be the case in the future, since the skeletons are all completely exposed.

Location: K'aka, Potosi, Bolivia
