Loon sitting on nest

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Paul Kelly

The sound of a loon is often heard and seeing them on the lake is normal. Finding a loon on its nest is rare. In 39 years of trolling Larder Lake I have only witnessed it twice. "Larder Lake and area has abundant wildlife such as moose and black bear, plentiful fish that include Lake Trout, Walleye (Pickerel) and Small Mouth Bass, and endless Boreal forests with hidden trails, streams and rivers. Campers, photographers, boaters, sledders, hunters and fishermen are sure to have a memorable stay in Larder Lake, where there are wholesome activities for the whole family to enjoy".

Location: Larder Lake, Ontario Canada
