A volcanic tributary now serves as a natural path for the few locals left on Pulau Una Una, a remote island in Indonesia's ring of fire. The lava flows from the devastating 1983 eruption cut clean paths through the dense equatorial jungle. Nature, ever humbling, is the ultimate construction worker.
