The Mighty

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by sajeev Renjan

This photograph is part of a series " The Mighty ", a tribute to the Brahmaputra river and all gods creations, that rely on it for their sustainability. This intricate web of coexistence was brought to light through angling expeditions along the banks of the mighty. I fell in love with this force and gained insights that have helped shape my conscience. But when the news of a dam being built in China arrived, i wanted to capture and immortalize it in the little we have, to show the magnitude of our loss that we face in this rat race for modernization... The beauty of a free flowing river.

Location: Bhramaputra river, Assam, India
