The poet with no audience.

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Anthony Mintoff

I took this picture in a big old house in Valletta Malta, the lady in the picture was waiting for her audience to arrive and be seated. I could hear her read the poems by herself; I remember the chills down my spine. I was in a dark corner of the room and she did not notice my presence, until she heard the shutter of the camera. I love the way the only source of light in the room is creating a circle of light with the chairs casting a shadow towards the outside, as if the chairs themselves are the audience and the rest is obscure in the dark.

Location: Valletta Malta
