Sunset in Svolvær, Norway

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Ethan Grandel

The ship on which I was traveling arrived in Svolvær a little while before sunset, and I went up to the highest deck to look around. Some time later another ship came in, filling the foreground; its warm tones matched those of the colorful architecture, and its flag affirmed the location. I think of the image as a way to have in some sense reflexively captured my own travel along the Norwegian coastline.

Location: Svolvær, Lofoten Islands, Norway
