Stylin' and Steppin'

A member of the Revolution Steppers reflects the joie de vivre of the City of New Orleans, especially apparent during the International Jazz and Heritage Festival. The seven-day festival spanning two weekends in the spring, celebrates the music and heritage of one of the most culturally rich cities in the United States. Colorfully adorned steppers like this man, in the tradition of West African circle dancers, often "second-line" dance alongside brass bands, in this case, the Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band, which kicked off the 2012 festival with a street party in the French Quarter.
