Zebras gather along the edges of the Boteti River in north central Botswana. In 2009, the ancient Boteti began flowing again for the first time in years, draining floodwaters from the Okavango Delta and providing a life-giving source of water. Just north of the Boteti, scrub and grasslands of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park fuel the largest mass migration of zebra and wildebeest in southern Africa.

Location: Boteti River, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Botswana
