On February 1, 2012, we had just arrived in Montepulciano, Italy - a small hill town in the province of Siena. After dinner, we had a massive snowball fight. Using the one inch of snow on the ground, we had cleared the street. The next morning, a huge snowstorm was occuring, creating more than 18 inches of snow. We had to drag our luggage from the top of the hill to the bottom of the hill because the bus could not park in front of the hotel. The snowstorm was considered one of the worst storms that occurred in Italy and we were stuck in the middle of it. It was just our luck.
