This photo was taken on a beautiful afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru, Kenya. We had been driving for a couple of hours, soaking in the sights and sounds. We were heading back to our reserve when we almost missed what we had been hoping for all day - to spot a lion. Our guide told us after 25 years experience, he had never seen a lion in a tree - so this was a very unusual and special moment. For me this photo beautifully captures this rare sighting. The king of the jungle in a secret, peaceful sleep whilst perfectly camouflaged amongst the shades and colours of the jungle.
