Angkor Thom

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Margaret Farrell

A Buddhist Monk sits in absorbed contemplation of one of four giant heads surmounting the South Gate of the Angkor Thom ruins. The late afternoon sun adds a little colour to the dark stonework, but it's the blaze of colour formed by the Monk and his umbrella that catch the eye.

Location: South Gate, Angkor Thom, Siem Reap, Cambodia
